Comments:	I acquired this gorgeous female in a trade from Dr. Bob Herrington in 2004. It was a massive specimen - by far the largest A. chlorechis that I have ever seen. She was already an adult when Bob first received her, and he had her for four years. Based on her appearance and behavior, she was probably already quite old. Her calm demeanor made her an excellent photo model, and I took a number of pictures of her over the years. In July 2007, she apparently drowned while being soaked in 2" of water. Her death prompted me to adjust my husbandry protocols, and to always include a rag or small towel for snakes to rest on while soaking. Still, I couldn't quite get myself to part with her, and decided to preserve her. She now shares my desk at work in a preserved jar.

I do the exact same thing now, after having similar experiences with a couple juvenile snakes. I always put in a hand towel, some paper towels or some long fiber sphagnum moss. If it's for a bad shed, the acidity of the sphagnum seems to help. -p-
