Animal Name: Screwy
Reference Code: JMMV08002-2
Species: Green Tree Python
Morelia viridis
Sex: Male
Locale: Designer
Morph: HY/HW
Birthdate: 5/23/2008
Death Date: 3/30/2012
Comments: He is HY with HW. Could almost be classified as a high contrast. Good yellows, bright blues, lots of white, and nice greens. He developed a spot when he was close to 2 1/2 years old which makes him look like he could be a pied or possibly a paradox. An exceptional animal, but there is a major flaw. When he was about 1 1/2 years old he became ill. An infection, bacteria, spinal injury, or a neurological issue that has handicapped him. Hence the name. His neck looks like a cork screw, he tail droops to the extent of muscle loss, he does not coil properly, but eats regularly. Like I said, he would have been an exceptional animal if he had not developed his issues.

After he prolapsed and I got is reinserted, he seemed to be doing well. Until he started to shed. He wouldn't shed; the skin was like it was rotting. I placed him in a heated shed box for a couple of days; getting him out a couple of times a day and trying to help him shed. The skin seemed funny so I placed back in his enclosure for a few days. Then I placed him back in the shed box to try to get off a little more shed. Well he passed away in his shed box 3/30/12. I guess it was is time.

He would have been one of my best if not the most unique. He feeds fine and has no problems deficating. Just handicapped and has to take food down strangely.
