I kept them in a mix of 1/3 sand, 1/3 peatmoss, and 1/3 soil from the yard for a total of about 1 1/2 inches of soil. A few thin flat rocks, and pieces of bark give them placed to hide. For feeding, I added dozens of small worms and invertabrates for them to feed on. Also, a tiny water dish about 1/4 inch deep was placed somewhere in the cage. The entire cage is basically a small worm farm . Keep the soil damp for the worms to live, and all will be fine. Temps around 74-78 should be fine.

any pointers on keeping them? So far this little guy is doing well, he's shed for me. I can't tell if he has eaten.. and he is ok active from time to time.

If it has a pointy tail it pokes you with it is definately a wormsnake. I had a bunch of them for a while. Not to exciting to keep because all they do is hide beneath the dirt, but a really cool little snake.
