They are very much compact, extremely shiny, the tail is very thick for their small stature, the base of their claws are alsovery thick. I have C. sculpts & they are very streamline in comparison. Superstitionia donensis, Superstition Mountains Scorpion. http://cacoseraph.exofire.net/scorps/S_donensis.php And yes, she is gravid. I'll have to get a picture of the male for comparison. I have them separated in hopes of more future breedings.

From the thumbnail, I thought this was Centruroides vitattus (very common here in North Texas). I have never heard the name S. donensis, and before looking at your animals, I thought it was a mistaken identity. Then I read the part about it killing cagemates. As I'm sure you're well aware, bark scorps are communal. We've kept large groups together on multiple occasions. So I took a closer look at the animal. The color and pattern is nearly identical, and although it's somewhat darker than average, I've seen them like this. And the animal is more compact, but I assumed that was due to overfeeding or it being gravid. And then I saw the claws and stinger- way too thick to be a Texas bark scorpion. Where are these from, and what is the genus name?
