| Found a strange lump on her side, about 1/3 down the body. It seems to get smaller as I handled her...looks very irregular and hard. I believe it's a calcium deposit. My African Rock had something similar about 2 years ago. Will be keeping an eye on it. |

| One reason I love these big snakes is that the growth is fast, noticeable and plain ridiculous. She is ready to start taking Lg rats, no XLs yet but if she can eat 5 smalls, she can do 1 large. She is only 7-8 months old! Great growth for a burm! |

| With every shed she seems to get more and more "patternless". Like say, that of a piedbald royal. These strips of patterns run randomly down her body and they seem to be getting larger. Very cool. |

| I have changed locations and stopped feeding a good week beforehand to reduce stress for all the animals. Everyone is now set up and ready to begin feeding again. |

| After moving I've discovered that my RBI rack needed to be cleaned and all the animals in it quarantined for mites. They're little fucking bastards.
Step 1. Remove infected animals and De-Mite them on a regular De-mite schedule of every 3 days.
Step 2. Removed rack and all tubs. Cleaned outside with De-mite. They will remain there. If there are no hosts, there will be no parasites. They will be cleaned with more De-mite.
Step 3. Keep quarantined animals in seperate room. Quarantine tubs are De-mited everyday.
This war is over. |

| As I opened up her cage to feed her, she was soaking again. There were drowned mites once more in the water dish. My patience grows very very slim for this. She was eating so I am not handling her but I did get to view her underside (the jaw) and no mites are under scales (which again is good). So tomorrow she will be treated with another De-Mite cage cleaning. |

| I checked on Onix and she did not have any mites present on her or in her cage (including the water). This is a great sign but not out of the flak yet. I did notice that she did not flick her tongue for a good minute once I brought her out...then she did short flicks with the tips staying together.
I know that RIs can cause the tips to stick together from mucus but her temps are good and nothing below 78. After that minute though; she resumed regular tongue flicking. I will keep a very close eye on her. No weezing or heavy breathing (outside of her being angry) and no mucus from what I could see. |

| I am soaking her in warm water being that the mite problem is not fixed. She defecated while soaking. Wiped down in De-Mite and the cage was also De-Mited. Found 3 mites on her, one on her lower jaw in the scales lining the mouth, another right behind the left mandible. One was just crawling around, another plumper. I cannot stress enough that I HATE MITES! |

| Upon cleaning her cage I checked her again for mites. I found 2 under her jaw and 2 plump ones (though it very well have been the same mite, as one dissapeared). I removed them all and treated her with De-Mite. She will be bathed in De-Mite in another 3 days. The cage was also bleached, then cleaned with De-mite and rinsed thoroughly. I don't find any mites in the enclosure hiding, nor in the rack unit itself. The problem is being kept quarantined which is good, but any mites are never good news.
She is not happy about being wiped with cloth and De-Mite, at all. Biting occurs regurlarly. |

| Discovered her soaking in her water bowl. Then upon closer observation noticed the tiny black dots at the bottom. MITES. I have not had to deal with mites since I was 17. I'm severely dissapointed that she has them. She was treated (taking out the mites) with the cage bleached as well as the water dish. |
