My Reptile Interests
I've been keeping reptiles for 15 years now. I currently keep boas primarily, Columbians, rosys, and a few Brazilian rainbows. I also have a couple of chondros. In the past I've kept a vast array of species including: panther and veiled chameleons, chinese water dragons, emerald tree boas, Guyana boas, hognose snakes, eastern box turtles, Russian tortoises, savannah monitors, ackies, an iguana, a common snapping turtle, an american alligator, a burmese python, stewart's milksnake, crested geckos, bearded dragons, and others. I am interested in most reptiles, though I have to be honest and admit that I am not really into turtles and tortoises, they just don't give me that spark.
Other Interests
When I'm not at work I spend most of my time outside of reptiles with my husband and dogs. I like to do obedience classes with my dogs, and they really enjoy the one on one time with me too. I watch way too much TV. I used to think I was a person who hated TV, but I've come to realize that if I really like a show, I'll watch it religiously until it gets cancelled. I also like to climb at the local indoor rock gym, and go camping in the summer, but don't do either nearly enough.
Music
I'm not so much a music person, though I frequently feel that I need to have music playing when it's too quiet. I am in love with Ben Gibbard's voice (Death Cab for Cutie, the Postal Service). I also like Sea Wolf, Interpol, The Decemberists, The New Pornographers, and others.
Movies
I love a GOOD scary movie (which seem to be harder and harder to come by, though I did thoroughly enjoy The Strangers), and also enjoy really good funny movies (I Love You, Man absolutely cracked me up!). I am kind of open to most movie styles though. Some of my favorites include Silence of the Lambs, The Fountain, A Scanner Darkly, Sin City, the better Batman movies (the original Michael Keaton Batman, and Batman Returns, and the newer trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, The Dark Knight, Batman Begins), The Prestige, 50 First Dates, First Knight, Pretty Woman - so there's a good variety.
Professional
I'm currently working for the State of Alaska as a Statistical Technician analyzing highway data. It's funny that I do this, because I'm really not so good with numbers (I have dyscalculia and dyslexia). I always figured I'd be doing something with little reliance on exact figures... but now I analyze traffic counts! Ideally I'd work in a more technical/computer related job. I really enjoy coding.
