My Reptile Interests

It was actually through my aquarium hobby that I was led to herps. I was introduced to Crested Geckos through a betta forum I moderate. I wanted them for over two years, researching, saving, and trying to convince the parents. I got my first, Tugboat, in January 2009 as a birthday present. And her eventual mate in July 2009.
As of now, and for as long as I live in my parents house, I am not allowed to have anything that requires bugs, mice, etc. That was the major selling point of cresties: no special lighting, they eat fruit, and they're small. Once I move out, I plan on a Ball Python and eventually an iguana. Beardies have always been on the list along with Leopard Geckos, but those remain to be seen. Green Tree Pythons are also stunning animals that I adore, and I really like the Black and White Tegu and Cherry Leg & Leopard Tortises.

I'm an avid aquarist. I have a 500 gallon pond, a 90 gallon, 20 gallon, 6 gallon, and two 2 gallons presently up and running. I have had more than 10 aquariums running at a single time.
I horseback ride, kayak, swim like a damn fish, run, and rollerblade. Why yes, I consider myself athletic. My goal is running 5km by the end of summer. Time will come later.
I am also an art student and can't pass a gallery without stopping in.
I read. A lot.
Anime is a closet obsession. Shhhh!

For those of you unfamiliar with my blogging style, I generally put down some lyrics from the song I am currently listening as I'm writing. The first line of the actual blog is the artist, followed by the song title. I have a very wide range of music. I listen to everything but Jazz. Hate jazz... 'nuff said.

Movies
|
|
I'm an avid movie-goer. But only "good" movies. For example, Layer Cake or Boondock Saints. Most people have never heard of these. Watch them. Fantastic. I like the little unknown foreign films, and if it has subtitles, so much the better. I refuse to watch dubbed.

Professional

|
I graduated secondary school June 2009. In fall 2009, I will be attending the University of Toronto for a B.A. in Art. I plan to teach eventually or run an art gallery.
I model part-time and dishwash at a banquet center on Saturday nights for 12 hrs. Both suck. But both pay pretty well, so I'm keeping at it to get me through school.
