My Reptile Interests
|
|
I do a lot of field herping during the summer and work a lot with public education giving lectures and talks on identification to the public. So I keep a permanent (or mostly permanent) collection of native snakes. I have ten exotic pet snakes that were all purchased captive bred then I have another 15 (or around that many) wild caught specimens. This includes several native venomous species but I'm still lacking a w. pygmy rattler and a tx coral snake that feeds readily. I have a couple lizards and several water turtles. Been keeping for eight years but have always loved reptiles since I was very young. Really got into snakes around age eight.

Other Interests

I also really enjoy keeping birds and have a pet quaker parrot (who is very spoiled and attached to me) and a fischers love bird. I should be getting a baby greater hill mynah sometime in May once he's finished weaning. Aside from animals I really enjoy art both traditional and digital. Other interests include reading, writing, and other various things.

I like alternative rock/rock and electronic music. Too many favorites to list.

Movies
|
|
I have a love of action/fantasy/sci fi movies. I have a dismal outlook upon any movies made from books but LotR triology is a favorite of mine. I'm the type that'll wait nine hours in line to see a movie that I already know I'll dislike (cough harry potter cough eragon). Anything meaningful or that makes me think is good. V for Vendetta, I Robot, Last Samurai, Matrix series, Star Wars, and many more. I'll add to the list when they come to mind.

I'm currently a senior in highschool and will be graduating in May. After that I'll be going to the University of Texas at Austin and majoring in biology.

I've always been into animals. Ever since I was little I was out catching lizards. I've kept nearly every variety of animal and I do a lot with wild animals as well. I've worked with wildlife rehabilitation and raised some orphaned birds of my own. I'm just lucky I've got such an understanding mother who's willing to let me clutter the home with tanks and cages.
