About Andy Rea
My Reptile Interests
I have kept herps since I was kid (going on 30 yrs now). I would spend HOURS out in the fields by our house catching anything I could find. I have always loved field herping. I haven't done it as much as I would like lately though. I do have a goal of finding 1 rubber boa though which I would like to keep. I haven't lived without a snake in my life since I was 10. I used to have A LOT of snakes but that was before marriage and kids! Now that my kids are growing up and comfortable with snakes, my wife and I decided to start re-building a nice small collection of different species. Ball pythons, Carpet pythons, Rosy Boas, Amazon Tree Boas, Dumeril's Boas, and reticulated pythons. Our family loves animals and we are suckers for animals in need which means we are leaving space in our herp room for rescues to try and rehabilitate and find them new homes. Check out my animals and leave some comments on your favorites.
Other Interests
I pretty much try to spend as much time as possible with my family when I'm not working. I tend to work a lot but there are also times that I do my best not to work at all. Lazy days are AWESOME!!! Recently, my love of reptiles has become my hobby again and I am thrilled that I don't have to think about anything else except simply caring for them. No business, work, or stress! Our reptiles is what's fun to me! I do enjoy playing sports though.
Music
I have a serious eclectic taste in music. My mood and emotional status determines what gets to go through my ear canals. I love to play electric bass and I have an acoustic guitar that I will eventually learn how to play (in the distant future)!
Movies
Too many favorites to list. I'm probably the worst critic out there because I like just about everything. Either that or I'm a simple minded man (stupid).
Professional
I work as a GIS technician for a private water utility. I am also a professional photographer. Primarily a portrait and event photographer. My snakes' portraits do not reflect my skills accurately though. I am much better than what I have posted. It would be an absolute dream to capture images for nature magazines or conservation programs. Image traveling around the world to capture images of reptiles AND get paid for it! YES! That is my goal after the kids are off in school and I'm retired.
Anything else?
If you really want to get to know me...just message me and spark up a conversation.
