My Reptile Interests

I was lucky enough to grow up on a farm with a big pond in the backyard, and I considered any animals that were slow or stupid enough to be caught fair game. Fortunately for them, my parents usually made me release them after a few days. I've left the wild creatures in peace (mostly) for a while now, and usually only harass them for a good photo op.

Other Interests

|
I love trail running, hiking, and working outside on our property. The fact that all of these hobbies can bring me into contact with animals is merely an odd coincidence. My lovely wife is VERY patient with me and tolerant of my creepy hobby. By far my best "field herping" experience was snorkeling with sea turtles on our honeymoon. I have a 6 month old son, and I can't wait to share the great outdoors with him.

My favorite artist is Tom Waits, hands down, but I've been on a pretty steady Lil Wayne rotation for the past year. We've been lucky enough to see quite a few concerts in the past few years, including Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, The Toadies, The Black Crowes, and Tom Petty.

|
In keeping with the reptile theme, "Jurassic Park" rocked my 4th grade world. "Lake Placid" was pretty good too. "Snakes on a Plane" was life-changing.

|
I started caring for animals as a kid, so it's only logical that I would graduate to caring for people as an adult. I've worked as an RN for 4 years now.
