My Reptile Interests
|
|
I currently keep bearded dragons and Leopard geckos, both of which I'm hoping to breed so I can produce some adorable babies. I've had reptiles for several months now (my first being my Female leo, Bandit, and my latest being my first beardie, Taco.), But I've been interested in them and have interacted with them for several years (my step-sister had bred and sold boas.). Of course, living here in Texas has only fueled my love for reptiles, seeing as there are many around. I've gone out back into my horse yard and have caught plenty of house geckos, garter snakes, toads, frogs, and even a California black king snake which has taken up residence across the street at my neighbors house. Almost everyone in my family is interested in my reptiles, and surprisingly, even my father, who seemed to despise reptiles, has taken great interest in them, and sometimes actually feeds them and handles them often (which is amazing to me, because I've already been bitten a couple of times by my leos (not looking forward to the first time my beardie decides he wants a piece of me) and yet they all absolutely LOVE him.). I'd love to go field herping in places where I can find more interesting reptiles, but the town I live in doesn't have many places to herp, and the only good place I know of seems to have some guy who hides drugs there. It's weird.

I'm an artist, and I'm very interested in animals. We've just recently bought a new quarter horse who actually broke down our neighbors fence and was hanging out with our old paso fino when we decided to buy her. She's broke, and a sweetheart, so I'm hoping to get back into horse riding soon. I don't know, I'm just a hobbyist in general. I do a bunch of stuff, so if you're interested in talking about practically anything, I'm there.

My favorite bands vary, but I'm into IAMX and Panic! at the Disco most of the time. I play Saxophone from time to time, but it became more of a chore than something to do for fun, so it's not very often that I do play... I could play piano, but again, doesn't really interest me.

I'm currently homeschooled, and I've just entered 10th grade (although I don't think it will be too long before I get through- hopefully I can get ahead so I have more time for a job.). I'm currently getting ready to apply at my local Fish 'n' Chirps after the end of August. I'm hoping to get some more experience working with their animals and just getting used to a job in general- I don't know whether or not a business would take off for me with me breeding beardies and leos, seeing as they are very common in the pet trade during these times, and it would be a bit harder to sell them.

Anyways, now that you've gotten through the boring crap about me, I'm actually a very lively person. I promise.
