My Reptile Interests
|
|
I've been keeping reptiles for between 15 and 17 years depending on how you want to look at it. I've been catching local herps for as long as I can remember and as a teenager started bringing them home. About 12 years ago I started getting really serious about it though. I've owned a pretty good variety but have narrowed my focus to BCC, BCI and Corn Snakes. I've also recently been getting really into other rat snakes. I also have a passion for rescuing animals. I've rescued dozens of herps over the last few years and have found it extremely rewarding.

Other Interests

Outside of reptiles I love all kinds of outdoorsy stuff. I've spent most of my life camping, hiking, backpacking, canoeing, rafting and so on.
I also really love shooting and actually shot competitively for several years.
I'm a very avid reader of all kinds of books, history, fiction, non-fiction...everything!
Tattoos! I have 10 at the moment and want lots more! I'm working on designing a herp themed sleeve. :)
I also like to make my hair funny/unnatural colors.

Music

I like all kinds of music. I play several insruments and can read music pretty well. I listen to almost everything from classical and opera to punk and old school hip hop. However, my favorite band is The Offspring. Their lead singer is my man. ;)

Movies
|
|
I'm a big fan of horror movies. I loooove them. Kinda more than I probably should. Lol. But I also like a lot of sci-fi (I'm super nerdy) and a good amount of action. Not really a fan of all the romantic comedies that seem to be so popular right now but my friends keep trying to drag me to them.

|
I'm a cook/kitchen manager but I got laid off recently and haven't found a new job so I don't know if that still counts.
I am in school though. Almost done with my first year. I'm working towards a BA in zoology right now and would eventually like at least a Masters but we'll see how that goes.
