My Reptile Interests
|
|
I especially love snakes. I think they are the most misunderstood animal in the pet trade and in the wild. I have been catching reptiles since I was a little girl trying to put bandaids on baby rattlesnakes that my cats caught. Since my mom was opposed, I never had reptiles as pets until I went away to college. I spent an entire semester researching reptiles and decided cornsnakes were the way to go. Since then, I've become active in volunteering at local Herp educational experiences at the local Natural History Museum and going to reptile shows.
I am currently a zoology and marine biology double major at Humboldt State U. with a Herpetology focus. I do some field herping locally but mostly my time is occupied with school. My roommates are reptile enthusiasts as well so we can nerd out together ;)

Other Interests

I love animal rescue. It's been hard to continue with since moving away to college, but I am still very much interested in rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption.
I love to crochet, decopauge, and watch movies.
I am an avid reader although that pasttime goes to the wayside during the semester.
I enjoy tidepooling, working on my research project on local chiton species, playing tennis, fossil hunting, and going to movies.
