My Reptile Interests

During my early childhood my grandmother had a farm my parents kept up.I caught snakes, turtles, tortise,lizards,bugs.....anything and everything that would fit in a jar.No lie.I trapped a brood young copperheads when I was 4 or 5.A vauge memory.I wanna say I thought they were worms.My best recollection of the event is my father throwing the jar like a "hail mary".He still tells the story often.
When hard times hit our family,the farm was sold.Our home in Birmingham was a freakin' no animal zone.(Dogs and cats were ok) Everything I tried to bring in was considered"varmits,or rodents".The first snake a "Ringneck" was immeadiatly put out.The next..Adult "Blackracer".Killed on sight.Rainbow skinks,American Anoles,Frogs crawdads,none of them would be around long before they were discovered...or my brother "ratted me out".All this leads up to as soon as I got my own place.I started buying and collecting reptiles.Overkill.When I was about 20 in the mid 90's.I had at least 25 pets at all times.My fav.Burmese Pythons.They were my second breeding project,The first was Fat tail Geckos. At 24 years old I got a bite and wrap up,from my 13 foot burmese.Her and I were alone like that for what seemed like an eternity.My roomate got home from class.And helped me loose.She was my oldest,most loved pet.Sold her to a breeder in Auburn.It was Heart breaking.Although I never thought she could eat me,I just knew she would kill or disfigure me eventually.College coming to an end for me,got rid of everything exept my Florida King.Stayed away from pets of any kind till I was in my 30's.Then I met my first Boa."Althea" Started using the internet to track down info.Up until then I had little knowledge of the internet.There is so much info on anything and everything....So there it is,I now collect boas.I am begining my first breeding trials......
