My Reptile Interests
|

Currently the only reptile i have is Roxxy, my creamsicle motley corn. I have been interested in reptiles sice i was about 5. In my early years i would run around a pond in my neighborhood catching baby turtles with a little minnow net. I had kept baby red ear sliders before but had to release them when one of them died. There was also a time when i found two eastern fence lizards, a male and a female. I kept them for a little while and let them go. Then when i was about 12 , i (kinda) got my first pet snake. While fishing my sister came across a newly hatched banded water snake. i took him home, named him Bandy and kept him for a few months. Very good snake that never bit almost no matter what i did to him, which was surprising considering he was from the wild. But he escaped and i never saw him again. I also used to have two bearded dragons. A male (shadow) and a female (ziggy). after a couple years right after ziggy laid a nice clutch of eggs, shadow passed away:(. only one of the eggs survived to begin the hatching stage but died before ever making it out. later that year my dad gave her away to someone he worked with who was also a retile lover. And lastly after 12 years of wanting a snake more than anything, my dad finally gave in and i got roxxy. As far as field herping goes, any time i get a chance, im out looking around for snakes a lizards. My most recent finds was a beautiful baby eastern hognose snake, and a black adult hognose snake. Well thats about it.
