My Reptile Interests
|
|
I keep all different types of herps, I love variety! I have kept reptiles since I was 19, when I was finally able to convince my mom that I wouldn't die of salmonella if I got a turtle. :) And now I have a problem and can't stop collecting! Turtles and tortoises were my first love, but I have gotten way more into snakes over the past two years. Although I would love to have a little bit of everything! I do lots of field herping when I go down to Kentucky to visit the Kentucky Reptile Zoo. I haven't had much luck lately, but the summer I was an intern at the zoo we had many successful nights of road cruising! And there isn't too much field herping to be done in the area where I live, so I have to save it for vacations!

Other Interests

|
Outside of reptiles I enjoy caring for dogs and cats, I'm more of a dog person though. I also enjoy doing various arts and crafts, fishing, and hiking.

Music
|
|
To keep it simple, a few of my favorites are Bright Eyes, Sublime, The Misfits, and The Cure. But I love way more than just that. "Semi-Charmed Life" by Third Eye Blind and "Under the Milky Way" by The Church are my two favorite songs of all time.

Movies
|
|
My all time favorite movie is The Labyrinth. Other than that I love horror movies (any kind, from the absolutely amazing to the terrible) and comedies. I love anything with Danny Mcbride, Will Ferrell, or Seth Rogen.

Professional
|
|
I graduated from Elmhurst College in May 2012 with my bachelor's in Biology. I was a volunteer keeper at Willowbrook Wildlife center for 3 years, a keeper intern at Brookfield Zoo, and a keeper intern at Kentucky Reptile Zoo. I am currently a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital, a job that I absolutely love and dread leaving eventually. I love coming to work everyday and I love the happiness I get from the connections I am able to make with patients and their owners.
