Comments:	I'm pretty sure Phoenix very nearly died in the egg. We had slit the clutch manually, and I'd expected Phoenix to come out a day or two ago, as the poor snake had absorbed everything and was looking all shiny, dry, and ready to go. I woke up to find that, despite our slit, Phoenix had pipped its own slit, and had failed to come out of that one. The snake was non-responsive, and I gently cut the egg and carefully removed it. Phoenix was limp and dead, I genuinely thought. After several tense minutes of gentle massage, we got a tongue-flick! We're taking our f/t rats like there's no tomorrow! YAY Phoenix!
