| $66.50 to see U of IL vet Dr. Mitchell, before any tests were done; examination of mouth saw very healthy tissues, broke a tooth, saw very minor signs of irritation, Dr. Mitchell noted that Noodle is in excellent body condition; performed a blood draw, obtained barely enugh blood to make 3 blood smear slides, not enough for the CBC & blood chem panels we wanted to do, but the blood smears showed an elevated WBC count (18,000 where normal would be 5,000-12,000, and a bad case would be 25,000), with an elevated proportion of monocytes. This fits with the mild, subtle symptoms I am seeing. We dosed Noodle with a broad-spectrum antibiotic as a preventative measure. |
