If you have a moment to help, what ball morphs are these?

I cant seem to upload photos so i'll have to leave links to my iherp page so you can see them

They are up for adoption on craigslist in my area. according to the woman, enclosures with heat lamps are included in prices. The female looks banded or spider to me and the male looks a bit light to be a regular, but i could be wrong. thats why i'm asking experts on iherp :)

thanks!

Well, I would be a little skeptical on the price with all the stuff included but it could simply be a great deal. But those are both normal balls. This is a perfect example of some of the really interesting pattern variations being seen in more and more of the co-dom to normal clutches. The male looks like it could have come from a mojave or lesser breeding and the female looks like any thing goes. She has a really reduced pattern but other wise could have simply come from two normals with similar patterns. There are several good websites now with good pics or you could just go back to Abigail's morph blogs and check out all the pics!

If you were wanting to pick up a couple of new balls I'd get them but they are just really nice looking normals.

p.s. buyer beware, it IS craigslist

The male looks a little like he has a marker for yellow belly. I think the flames on the side are a yb marker.

is this supposed to be funny? Yellow belly is a co-dom trait, there are no markers.

They both appear to be nice dinker balls to me. I would nab them as those are AWESOME prices for dinkers. Even if they prove out to just be pretty normals, they are worth that IMO easily. And you could always sell them to me if you had to ;)

markers are weird things, and I wouldn't rely purely on those to determine much - I have the most normal of normal bps that I got from ShellBoa - Tiger.  He has "spots on his nose" yet is not a spotnose, and he has the tracks people associate with Pieds, but he is not a het pied.  Some of these "markers" appear on normals that are definitely not hets, and plenty of hets do not have these "markers" - so... yeah... that said, those are some awesome normals, and it would make for a fun "dinker" project, ya know?

she actually didnt mention them in an ad. the post was about 'it all started with a dog" about how she took in a rescue, then another and soon had a full house of animals. she mentioned she had some snakes, so i emailed her to see if she had any balls, and those are what she sent me.

Abigail, stop talking about aquiring more normal ball pythons!:)

I am just teasing you:)

she just emailed me back. the third snake is a reg male ball about 4 yrs old with burn scars. she wants $125 for him because "i dont ever want him to have that happen again...he will go to a good home only"

she lives in my town, so i'm trying to arrange a time to meet her and see them for myself. talked it over with the boyfriend and as long as they come with enclosures the sale is good as done in my mind. (unless something unforseen happens)

i still feel that male is to blushy. and she looks banded to me. just my opinion tho

Haha yeah those are markers for yellow belly it's het for het ivory.  For serious though those look like just good looking normals I gave away a male that looks just like that male not too long ago and I've had a few that look like that female and had friends breed them and just make more fairly nice ball pythons.  I don't know if I'd pay $125 for the burned one though even if I liked balls.  She'd probably give you a good deal if you took them all I guess.

here is her last email...what do you guys think?

Well when I first got puck...He would strike... but he got rehomed and lost and found his way back here starved and dehydrated...after I gave him some water and nursed his wounds he has had stars in his eyes ever since....
(and in fact he is the second snake here that has come back magically...in VERY bad shape)one reason why I only rehome to people familiar with snakes

Sugar is and always has been EXTREMELY head shy...she is a very timid, not very comfortable snake...but is big and beautiul for 2.

and as I've said..bubba, the big male, is just as wonderful as he can be...I still hope you don't choose him.. lol. but i know that whatever decision you make it would be fair.. and fine.. I just need to stop beig so over protective.. not everyone is and imbacile...

jsut give me a call and feel ree to stop by and see them...

Oh and Yes.. lol.. I almost forgot again... they were probed by breeders in the area.. I am fairly sure they are as listed...

And yes they all will come with a complete set up including hides, deco, heat pads, lights, and timers...after all.. what would I use them for?

You know, it really depends on what your goals are. If you want to have the males around as pets, then go for it. Just keep in mind that you will have more mouths to feed, and the cost does add up. As long as you are sure that you are ok with that knowing that the males will not really be worthwhile to breed, certainly they are nice pets. Of course you can always find new homes for them if the cost becomes a problem. Anyway you get the point.

They are both nice normals... Normal BP' are infinitely variable... good luck! The male looks a whole lot like my mom's female, Sage. I picked sage for the exact same blushing on the neck that the male has!
