My Reptile Interests
|
|
I keep mostly snakes, but I like lizards and amphibians as well. I've had frogs since I was a little kid, but reptiles just for the past year or so. They're like potato chips - can't have just one. I don't do much field herping except when I see interesting herps out on my trail runs. I also like tarantulas - I own four and will probably try to breed those before I try my hand at breeding reptiles.

Other Interests

I enjoy physical activities - I occasionally do yoga and pole dance, but more often I'm practicing krav maga or lifting weights. I also compete in distance running events. I've completed a few marathons, including Boston, and will be running my first ultramarathon early 2011. Until then, I'll probably stick to the 10-mile and half-marathon distance as I train. I also enjoy hiking, rock climbing, and camping. As for non-physical pursuits, I like to learn new languages and read science/nonfiction books.

I haven't played music since I was a teenager taking piano and violin lessons. I really enjoy rockabilly music, rap, and alternative post-punk kind of stuff. My favorite band of the moment is Killola, although that's always subject to change. I'm not above cheesy club/pop music, especially if I'm working out.

Movies

|
I'm in the minority, apparently, in thinking Billy Bob Thornton is the hottest guy in Hollywood. I like comedies a lot, especially ones with dark humor. I will always try to watch at least half of the 24-hour marathon of A Christmas Story when it comes on. Documentaries are another favorite genre of mine, especially if they deal with crime or astronomy or life sciences.

I'm a joint JD/MPP student trying to figure out what she wants to be when she grows up. I'm thinking of going into civil rights law or working in the non-profit sector, although I am also tempted to study information science and work for a library or museum.
