Head Animal Keeper Bryan Suson is inspecting one of the fox snakes we are t racking to make sure its healthy. We've been blown away by how far these animals move during the summer months.

That's great you love fox snakes - they are one of my favorite all time herps. Over the past five years I have been radio tracking them and unlocking their many secrets. Really fascinating animals. The only population in our county ison the verge of being wiped out due to development unless we can raise enough money to purchase some of the land. In the meantime, we have pulled a small portion of the population to hold in captivity as insurance should the entire site be bulldozed overnight. We will then use this founder stock to captive breed and identify a safer haven for our county's fox snakes.

I love fox snakes. They were the first snakes I ever got to handle and take care of myself. They are beautiful.
