Q: CITES II Shipping to Germany
Posted By:

Here's the situation: I'm planning a move to ye olde Deutschland in March, which will be awesome. Less awesome is the lingering question of how to get the scaly ones over with me. I can leave them in capable hands for a few months until paperwork/weather/whatever get sorted, but not for years.

The corns are no problem, but both boas are, as far as I can tell CITES II protected. AFAIK, I need a licensed CITES II shipper to ship them from the US to our new home. I have one potential lead, but if you know of any companies or trustworthy individuals who might be able to perform this service for two sub-adult boas - Hog Island BCI and a BRB - please, please please let me know.

(And yes, I know it would be far cheaper to just buy new ones over there, but that's not the point).

Anyone have any ideas, or any experience doing this sort of thing?

Gary Schiavino may do it for you he can export and import and I trust him exclusively you may have to ask really nice and of course pay him for his time but he may do it for you.
I have some boa breeders im friends with in Germany as well so if you can't figure out a way to ship them you can buy new ones...

What Pat said about Gary is spot on. Also, if you know him, Lord Rico Walder is also an international guy.

Try contacting Filip Longhitano http://www.heterodon.com I've got a few animals from him. Very nice guy and works with imports too. He should be able to help you get them over here or at least point you in the right direction to get the paperwork done with the Zoll (customs)  over here. As far as I know both BCI and BRB are under CITES apenix B. You'll have to file some paper work for the BRB with your local Landrantsamt when you get it here but your BCI won't need any extra paperwork.
