Q: Antibiotics & a Beardie

Tank
Our male bearded dragon Tank has been with us for 18 months. He is a rescue beardie who has never quite been as fat or pretty as other beardies, but he's super sweet. Recently he's developed a lump on his cheek, below his lower jaw. We decided a vet appointment was in order.

We had our vet appointment with Tank today. The vet was not one I've had before (they lost the appointment with our usual herp vet) and was very young. I've seen her there a few times but never worked with her. She seemed to have her basics down.

She said the lump feels hard and could well be an abcess. She wants to try antibiotics first. She prescribed Baytril, 0.15 mL by mouth, 2x daily for 14 days.

Anyone know if this is a safe dosage? His weight was 239 grams today.

He is housed in a 40 gallon breeder. He has a ReptiSun 10.0 and a 150 watt heat lamp. He is fed a mixture of various types of greens, veggies and some fruits, along with crickets and super worms.

Like Aimee said it's more mg than ml.   I don't use oral dosages or baytril for anything at all anymore though.  5 mg/kg IM/PO q 24h is the routine dosage.  In your case it would obviously be PO.
