Q:

Viper Boa Care?

I just picked up a cute little female Viper boa (YAY). I googled care, and I get a lot of jumbled answers. She is about 300grams and most likely wild caught. Just curious how others here are keeping theirs and if there is anything I should know that may not be common knowledge about them. I am keeping my girl in cypress mulch with temps around 80-90 depending on the out side temp.
What do they like to eat? I am assuming live rodents, but is there a specific rodent? Or will the eat lizards and stuff as well?
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

That is a gorgeous Viper boa! Didn't you ask what they were feeding when you got her? Contact the previous owner and ask what husbandry they kept her at, and whether they were feeding mice or rats. She looks like she should be on adult mice, but they could have also been feeding her rat fuzzies, so I would ask. The person breeding them in my area kept them on cypress mulch (Which is my personal favorite) and kept the tamps at around 79 on the cool end and 88 on the hot end.

Yea I asked them, they said live mice. I was just wondering if these guys showed a particular taste for any other types of food. I did forget to ask them what substrate they were keeping her on, but I figured she would like a couple inches of cypress to burry her self in!
