Q: Black rat snake Genetics question Albino x het albino white sided

I have a male Albino Black rat snake.  I'm wanting to get a breeding project together to produce more albinos.  A fellow who frequents the same shows as I do has a het albino white sided black rat snake.  I'm curious if this would be a good choice for female to breed my male to.

Im not exactly sure what type of gene the white sided thing is- recessive or dominant or whatever- but it might worth trying. Unless you had something else in mind for your boy.

I think that would be a good choice for you.  You'll end up with 50% of the clutch being albino and the other 50% being normal, and all offspring will be 100% heterozygous for white-sided.  White sided is a simple recessive trait.  I say go for it!
