Q: Stunted Male BP Breeding?

Little Boy

When I bought my male pastel the dealer told me that he was stunted by malnutrition from the boy he rescued him from.  That was ok with me I was fairly certain I could get him back on track.  He's grown nicely but he is still small (I'll be getting an up to date weight on him this week).   He will be 2 years old in January which is about the time I'm wanting to breed him.

What I was wanting to know is can a male at 2 years old that is "not" 400g (I really doubt he will be that big) be able to breed?

If his body weight is proportional to his length he should conceivably be able to breed. My question would be more along the lines of how viable and healthy his sperm will be if he has had a nutrition issue. He may be going through the motions and shooting blanks. I personally would feed him for another year and then carefully brumate him to maximize his potential.

Ide have to agree 100% with shellboa. Even if he could breed - you may not have anything take.

Update on little boy.   He weighed in at 610g at 18 months.
