Q:

Where to buy breeder rats?
|
|
Hey y'all. I'm looking for some breeder rats. My local shops are kinda reluctant to part with theirs. Is there a good site online that ships breeders?

You may just have to buy some younger ones, and raise them up to become breeders. If you buy breeders outright, you may also end up buying "soon-to-be-retired" rats, so keep that in mind

Also, not many places will ship live. If you do want to breed, start with like 4 females and 1 male, and grow from there, adding new rats from different stores to keep you blood lines good. It won't take too long if you buy weanlings or small rats. Make sure you have enough to last you 6 weeks and they should take care of the rest.
