i recently got a baby saharan desert sand boa(my first snake). i have only fed her once and that was two pinkys two weeks ago...i tried feeding her a week ago and today and she just wont go for it. i dethawed them with warm water and even moved the pinkys around to make them seem alive(like i did the first time and it was the only way she would eat it), but she doesn't seem interested at all. help?!

Hugs And Hisses

We had two sand boas and theyh were so hard to feed.  We finally had to get a live newborn mouse and put him in a deli cup with the mouse and leave him in a warm dark cabinet over night.  In the morning it would be gone.

Good Luck!!

I will have to agree with Hugs and Hisses.  Designated feeding enclosure that is small and leave the snake in there with a live pinky overnight.  LEAVE it alone!  Place the feeding enclosure where you won't have to move it and out of light.  More often than not it should be gone by morning.  Post updates

with mine i have to tease feed her, aka smack her *lightly* in the face til she gets mad and bites it. From there she eats it.

What are your cage temps and what's the setup like?  non feeding in snakes is usually related to husbandry.  Never had a problem with a sand boa eating if it was warm enough!
