k. we recently got a female ball python with a bad burn all down her back due to the ignorence of her previous owner. he left the top off her tank and she got out. she was missing for a while and he found her under the heating vent. it's starting to heal but is there anything i can use to help her heal and/or keep it from getting infected?

I dont know much about snakes, but I know neosporin WITHOUT painkillers works on wounds. It'll help to heal it up :) Also make sure to keep her enclosure as well as the wound very clean- try and remove all fecal matter right away, and if you arent already, put her on some sort of substrate like newsprint or paper towels.

+1 on the Neosporin or generic equivalent without pain killer or silva sulfa cream.

And yes, keep her, the wound and her enclosure clean. : )

Give soaks in a betadine bath and keep her on paper bedding (newspaper or paper towels) Neosporin is good but sulfadene is better. And resist temptation to "help shedding".
