Dozer is a class pet to my sisters 5th grade class...his first day was Monday. He hasn't been eating his veggies and had been hiding in her hands when she handles him.

Its a new enviroment for Dozer. Theres a bunch of new people coming and going and staring and probably trying to touch him. Hes going to need time to adjust to the change. Make sure he has an extra place to hide and that he isnt over handled or abused by the kids in the class. He should come around soon.

Is Dozer full grown or still young?
You should bring him home if he's young.
Because he's stressed, he'll hide all the time and not get the UV light he needs to grow and stay healthy.

Give him some time and he will get used to the classroom.  Beardies usually enjoy attention, much more than many other reptiles.

Best of luck

Make sure the hide is not in the hot spot.
