Q: Dark spots inside hatchling =\

After purchasing my new baby snow corn snake last night I noticed it has two dark spots inside of it, not on it's skin, but inside of it's body. One is near it's neck area, the other is near it's belly area. This was noticeable as soon as I inspected it because of the light ventral/underbelly of a snow. Could this be an impaction of some sort, tumours, just a deep coloring flaw, or just plain ol' poo that I'm seeing? Any input would help, and if I can get the little silly thing to hold still long enough ill take pictures. I'll also answer any questions I can that will aid in an answer. Thanks- Brandi

PS- i was not allowed to hold the snake in the store for inspection. yeah, petstores are great like that. Also it is active, tongue flicking, and has good responses. I do not notice any sign of illness thus forth.

My first thought with this being a light colored snake is that you are seeing some internal organs.

My snow gets similar dark spots near the vent just before she poos. And I am thinking the one near the neck is probably an organ like said above. My little girl has similar dark spots, and she is just fine! :) My champagne also shows these darker spots- and again, just before he poos, some dark around the end. (Must be the poop showing through) lol.

taking pics is the tricky part andrea haha. as you know hatchlings are squirmy little things. i didnt mention  on my original question that there appears to be nothing physically or emotionally wrong with this baby either. it is explorative, alert, etc.  and is settling into its new habitat very well, not spending all of its time in its hide or anything like that. its usually out and about. and its very sweet =]
