Aw man I only live like two hours from Savannah. Wish I knew some decent spots. Savannah is quite lovely. I know a few breeders but no herpers. I'll ask around for you though!

I am guessing most serious herpers won't post specific locations in a public forum. However, there are tons of cool people on iHerp. You can definitely check out some Reptile books dedicated to the Southeast United States and perhaps Carl Kaufield's books might be a good start for general locations. If you plan to catch and release then investigating Georgia state park information is also a good idea. Plus, you can also investigate if there is an active herpetology club for Reptiles and Amphibians, too. YouTube might be another good source as well with keywords "field herping + Georgia." HAVE FUN!

I dont go up to Savannah for herping, but I'm an hour south in Brunswick, and there are lots of places to go down here. Esp on Jekyll Island, lots of nice wooded bike/walking paths, and firebreaks through the island. We go every chance we get. See everything from skinks, legless lizards, blk racers, king snakes, cottonmouths, pygmy rattlers, water snakes, treefrogs, gators, toads, deer, etc etc
