Crestie Shedding Help
In Relation To:
Gomez

My crestie, Gomez, started shedding three days ago. He has a little flap pulled up from his mouth sitting on his nose. It's been like that since the begginning of the shed. No progression has occured in the past three days. I've been misting him several times a day hoping to help him along. This morning, I put him in a little plastic cup (with holes of course) with moist paper towels and moss. He's been in for a few hours now and I still do not see any signs of progressing. Any tips?
Thanks a bunch!

That is rather odd that your cresty hasn't finished. I tend to help the selected geckos I know that always have a problem shedding (getting it stuck on their tail and leaving it.) Other will disagree, but you could tug at the shed a little.

Thanks, I'm afraid to hurt him though as it doesn't look like the rest of his body is even ready to shed. ??? Should I wait to tug at it until I can tell the shed has seperated from his skin?

If the rest of his body doesn't look close to ready, I'd just wait. The problem with pulling the shed is that you could irritate the skin. I usually wait until the gecko looks the usual "gray" color.
