This is just pure curiosity on my part. My partner-in-crime Devin and I adopted this snake, Chance, a few months ago. The guy we got him from had rescued and rehabilitated the poor thing (major mouth rot, and mites so bad you couldn't touch him without your hand coming away swarming with the buggers). So all the background we have on Chance comes from him. We were told that Chance was a Nicaraguan, 4 years old, full grown, and male. We didn't take an exact length/weight measurement on him, but he was probably about 5', maybe a little under.
Fast forward to now: he has shed twice since we've had him (I only entered dates on his tracking page for the time I was babysitting him, he had shed once before that), and now measures closer to 5'5. His appetite is great, and I don't think he's quite done with this growth spurt yet. He's also one of the calmest, most people-friendly snakes I've ever met. A little head shy, but he is totally chill, and he's gotten pretty popular with Devin's neighbors' kids, lol.
So my question is this: is there any way to tell if he's a pure Nic without knowing his background? From everything I've read, he seems pretty big for a 4 year old male Nic. Obviously I don't really care either way, he's a total sweetheart, but it would be neat to know.
