Dead tail tip on beardie, how to proceed?

Figured I should get this up now, before I have a chance to forget...
I took in this little juvie beardie from a friend. It was given to her by a customer at the pet store we work at, and obviously wasn't cared for terribly well.
He seems to be in decent shape, but there's one issue that's really bothering me: It looks like he's retained a LOT of sheds on his tail tip, and it looks pretty well dead. I attached a pic below--about the best I could get (thank god for super macro!).
I'm not sure what to do--leave it, cut it off? Do I need to even worry about it, or will it just fall off on its own? Does the flesh actually look completely dead (to those who know what it looks like), or is it still kind of alive under all that stuck skin? That's basically all I'm needing help with at this point...
If someone can advise me on how to proceed with this, I'd really appreciate it. This is the first time I've had to deal with this kind of thing!
Thanks in advance. I know it's probably not a major issue, but it's still one that's bothering me. :)

I'm fairly new to the beardies but it seems like a warm soak with some epsom salt and maybe a little coaxing would work

like Azriel, I'd rub it off (Without taking it out, don't force it) after a warm bath and some epsom salt.

Like the others said, warm water will help. Warm baths are great to loosen any sort of unshed skin, but just as you wouldn't want to pull off a dead toe, you don't want to force the tail tip to come off. it will eventually dry up and drop off on its own. If you let the limb go through its own natural process, it will be less stress on your animal. I would give baths frequently to make it more comfortable. This will encourage the skin to just sort of flake rather than constricting the tail. Also, this might prevent the tail from becoming constricted in other places and help to prevent loss of more of the limb. If the skin isn't completely dead, it may even survive if the retained shed comes off. I've noticed the tail tip is a common place for stuck shed to be, along with the end of toes just above the nail.
You should NEVER force skin off of your animal, whether its a constricted limb or just a normal flake of shed. If it's coming off and you can rub it and the skin will come loose, thats fine. But you should never pull or peal your reptile. Its kind of like a pealing sunburn. Some of it doesn't hurt, but if its not ready to come off, it can cause a lot of discomfort.
I hope all goes well and the baths help! If you're really worried about it, you can buy this spray called Natural Chemistry Reptile Spray. Its great stuff to have on hand, it kills mites and helps with shedding. You just bathe your animal, apply the spray (I do this with a paper towel, spray the towel and wipe the reptile) and let that soak in for about 10 or 15 mins, and rinse thoroughly. I treated my red tail for mites with it, and she went from shedding in pieces to shedding completely clean in one piece.
I sound like a commercial lol I'll stop now! Good luck, hope that helps!

Ok, so it looks like the general consensus so far is to just treat it like any other stuck shed, and otherwise let it take its course? Sounds simple enough.
I'll probably just soak him 1-2x daily and go that route. I thought I felt a blockage in his gut (certainly harder and bigger than anything I've ever felt on my adults), so hopefully the soaks will help him pass whatever that is, too.

I swear, a warm bath solves everything!
Yep, deffinitely if he has a lump in his intestines, the warm water will help get things moving and get that to pass more easily. I think one bath a day would be alright, about 15-30 mins, make sure the water isn't TOO hot because that can shock their system. Luke warm, like the temperature you'd make a bottle for a baby, is fine.

Well, I guess this one solved itself!! After soaking for around 15 min today, I started gently rubbing his tail tip. A layer or two came off, and underneath it didn't look at all "plump" like it does in the pic. Maybe that was poofed up skin or it just managed to totally die in the last day and a half, but it was pretty much a stick. Then, while gently manipulating the tip, I noticed that it was no longer fully attached to the rest of the tail. Pretty much held on by a flap of skin. So, in other words, his little tail tip was already far enough gone that it went ahead and fell off on its own! So I tugged it the rest of the way off and now he's back in for the last 10 min of his soak...
Hopefully I can talk him into some squash baby food after. Squash always seems to loosen the bowels a bit, at least with my adults (yuck!), so maybe it will help with that presumed blockage...
Thanks for the help/suggestions, guys. :)
