Q: Crestie Shed

Crestie

When I bought my baby crestie she had already what appeared to be a bad shed. I tried rubbing some of it off, but she's so tiny I really didn't want to push it. Now, I mist every other day, and now the shed seems worse, as if she shed again and it was bad again. Can you soak cresties? I don't mean DROWN them, I mean just a shallow little dish of water and stick them in, and use my finger to rub some shed off (if she'll sit still...)

Any help would help ;)

Try to gently ease the shed off and keep the humidity up, crestie shed and turn into glue when its wet and stick to them

I have tried peeling it off, but she gets all flustered :( So a soak is not recommended?

No, their shed gets all gooey and sticks to them and sticks them to things :/ try keeping the humidity up and maybe dabbing it with a damp Qtip while you peel it off

Saunas are perfectly fine for rhacs. Use a small dish with some paper towel in the bottom, and add a bit of warm water. Place him/her in the dish and let it sit for a bit. After you've let her sit there for a while you can take a damp q-tip and try to gently rub away at the stuck shed.

Use epsom salts, they are great for helping with bad sheds and also assist with impaction.
