Q:
|
Gray banded Kingsnake x Mexican Black Kingsnake
|
|
In Relation To:
Anubis

Right now I have a male MBK. I was wondering if I bought a female gray banded king, what would their babies would look like? I tried googling it and couldn't find anything. Maybe I'm just typing it in wrong.

I understand that. But it's not like it's a corn and a king. It's two types of kings. I'm more asking if anyone has seen what the two mixed looks like? I'm sure someone has had to of bred them and post pictures.
Plus Anubis is years away from being bred. =o

Why? =o
And I don't think hybrids are as unpopular as you think. I've seen Ben Siegal aution of 3 in the past week. One is up tonight actually. A brooks king and a chain king. (Just stating.)

Before a person considers breeding any animals, I feel it's important to take a good look at the market potential of the offspring...

I understand this. But that is not my question.
I'm curious to what the babies would look like.
It's not like I own two full grown kings and I'm about to throw them together.

I realize you just asking what you might get as far as colors, but what you have to understand is that "most" herpers are against mixing and when someone asks this type of question it gets people aggravated, because if you are asking the question you are considering eventually doing it. Honestly hybrids are not well received and Kings can lay anywhere from 4 -20 eggs, can you provide for or sell 20 mixed kings.....probably not.
I know this may not be the answer you were looking for, but hopefully you have gained something from it.
Good Luck

+1 slider...not to mention that if for some reason they came out looking like one or the other parent, they could be missold (maybe not by you, but by a purchaser) as a pure blood whatever.
My guess is they would either be really muddy looking grey bandeds or just black like the MBK. Just a guess though. I'm leaning more toward the black being the dominant color scheme.

It is honestly is just more of a curious question. Like what if you mix a horse with a zebra or something like that. Idk. o.O Anyway
I am going to go with your answer Sapphire. I feel like maybe the black would be dominante in this case. =o

Just for the record a horse and a zebra make a Zorse, also a donkey and a zebra makes a Zonkey. No, I'm not being funny this is really what they are called. Did you know that a donkey and a horse cross is not always a mule, if it's a female horse and a male donkey it's a mule, vis versa is a hinny. Just random fun facts.
