Q: Sick Baby crestie

Okay so i have this baby crestie thats really sick it wont move and when it does it squirms everywhere it was dragging its legs and at first i thought it couldnt use them but it seems weak because it did move them for a little bit also the top of its mouth is completely black. i can tell its in pain and theres no vet open around me at this time theres a hospital about 45min from me but i dont have a ride there. is there anything i can do for it i honestly think its going to die:( also i just looped its rectum with a 30x zoom magnifier and around the outside it looks like a scab all red and black. its left hind leg toes are stuck together i tried doing a sauna work for one leg but not this one.

history: he/she was born really late compared to its sibling it was born 13 days after on february 19. he/she was fine when it came out ran everywhere and seemed to have no issues. it was eating fine on its own but i was also hand feeding. i made the mistake of allowing a friend to keep it and its sibling for two weeks he's also a breeder but he breeds boa's i assumed he would be able to care for it because i had some space issues at home not sure if it was or wasnt his fault. the day i got him/her back it seemed fine though it was moving around like normal. i did put it alon with another two geckos of the same size for 3 days meanwhile i got a hold of more critter keepers. the rest of the geckos are doing fine i can see no issues with them but i fear it may be a parasite or something.

I really appreciate any help i get thanks!

If you have flavorless pedialyte or fruit punch gatorade, the best thing you can do right now is to make sure it stays hydrated. I would try getting a drop or two in it with a feeding syringe, and in a couple hours to repeat it. Continue giving it saunas as well, cresteds can absorb moisture through their vents. If it stays hydrated, it gives you the chance to wait until tomorrow morning to bring it into a vet.

Without photos I cannot tell you if the black you are describing is normal, as is in some crested geckos, or if that is a symptom of something going on. The leg-dragging almost sounds like stuck shed to me, but again, without seeing it I can't tell you much.

The scab around the vent is what worries me, there shouldn't be visible black and red scabs in that area. Is it possible the crestie had some sort of prolapse?

You and your crestie are in my prayers.

i will buy some pedialyte from the drug store close by and keep it in a sauna as long as i can until tomorrow morning. i will post pictures of it in a bit another thing is it stays there looking life less the only reason i can tell is alive is i nudge it a bit and it opens its mouth at me. but besides that its hard to tell its even breathing. i can tell theres stuck shed for sure on its hind left leg but you will see in the pictures.

Poor kiddo, he looks the way one of my geckos did when it had Entamoeba invadens. He had a swollen vent, became listless and dehydrated.. If you can get a fecal sample, bag it up in a sandwich baggie and put it in the fridge. If you can get some liquids in him, I think he should have some time to de-stress(especially after seeing the pic of him just laying listlessly on his back). Really, until you can get it into a vet, that's about all you can do for your gecko. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly between geckos, and I highly recommend getting a fecal done on your other geckos too just in case. Vets usually give discounts for multiple fecals.

thanks for all the help im hoping it makes it until tomorrow and if it doesnt im still taking it to the vet to see if they can do an autopsy and determine the cause.
