I have never seen this before but I want to know what other people say.

Have you tried giving her a warm bath to see if she...you know...lets loose?

Shes only passed urates since i got her on 11-10.  Ive seen small gas bubbles, but never one 4-5 inches long.  Shes still eating, and it doesnt seem to cause any discomfort, but im still voncerned

I agree with a good soak  .. Maybe it will help pass a blockage or something

I would also try and soak her, but I would also look for a new vet. It just doesn't sit right with me that he'd let something that big on your snake's belly go without some sort of treatment.

For the first time ever, I agree with Cherryhead... It doesn't sit right with me either and unless you're extremely confident in that vets experience with boids I would get a second opinion. I'm not saying it isn't gas, but it shouldnt be trapped in there and swelling like that. The fact that she's eating is very good. Do the soak, but supervised (happy Cherryhead?). I hope it's nothing serious

Yes please let us know. Have not had a problem like that but agree with a warm soaking. I too question the vet. Good luck!

If it was just gas, I believe it would cause discomfort if it kept growing and was not expelling.  I would def get another vets oppinion.  If it is gas building up like that then something is causing a blockage or the "gas" would be released.  It just don't sound right...???Undecided

Aimee

did the vet do an ultrasound? if not, "gas" is possibly a guess?  I think a lot of good points are raised here.

Does it feel like air or fluid? Could there have been a tear or week area in the intestinal track and some fluid is slowly seeping into the body cavity?

Soaking her again today. The gas.bubble hasn't seemed to get any bigger. I'm gonna ggive ituntil this coming Monday since it doesn't seem to be causing pain or discomfort yet.

I was looking at her tracking... she is being treated for an RI? And can I ask why you are feeding so heavily? She is only a year and a half, right? 3 small rats at a time and then 3 more in a 4 day period? Is that correct?

Aimee asked the million dollar question, was an ultrasound done? how was this confirmed? that is way too abnormal to be a gas bubble.. please update

I see this as potentially a great learning opportunity for fellow keepers - would love to hear an update.

I'd love to know what happens with this, as I have a friend with a Mexican black king that has the same problem. She's treated it for protozoans with no luck, and the snake seems to be eating fine but not gaining any weight.
