Quinn, my garg, completely ignores crickets. They climb all over her, she doesn't seem to know they're there. I've heard/read that they sometimes prefer larger ones, but I wouldn't go too large, you don't want them to choke. Both our garg and crestie are exclusively feeding CGD, since it's a complete diet there's no need for crickets, they're mostly for variety and entertainment.

Gargs and cresties have very different growth rates, and that varies vastly between individuals as well. Quinn has been growing steadily since we brought her home in May; Good Hank our crestie (obtained in October) seems to want to stay around 9 grams forever. So long as they're both pooping (and thereby eating) you're doing fine. Just make sure to mist nightly to keep them hydrated, monitor temps so they don't get too high or low, and they should be healthy and happy.

I have tried bugs with all of my geckos, both Crested & Gargoyle, and it is pretty much the same. Some go crazy for them, some won't touch them.  As long as they are eating GCD and not losing weight, you should be fine.  If your concerned about their Calcium levels, you can always check the calcium reserves inside their mouth.

My gargoyles (5 of them various ages) I used to have wouldn't touch bugs. I only tried dubia but they wouldn't go for it. I fed them CGD and they did great on it!

most my cresties and my garg dislike bugs. they sem scared of them. even the little ones dislike then.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but if they're eating CGD regularly, & provided that they're not calcium deficient for whatever reason (check calcium sacs in mouth), but I don't think you need to give additional calcium.

I gut load my bugs with CGD. I don't give extra calcium unless they are showing signs they need it.

This is gonna sound gross, but one way I have gotten some to eat bugs is starting off with crickets, & squish the head with the feeder tongs, & then present it. For some reason, the smell seems to get their attention. Plus, with bigger crickets, some bite, & this prevents that from happening.

With dubia, I hold it up to their mouth, & let them lick it a couple times, they usually will grab onto it after a couple licks, & after that, it's pretty easy. Some just won't eat bugs, for whatever reason.

I put a couple dubia in glass dishes in the tank, & most of mine are attracted to the movement, & "hunt" the dubia & eat them on their own.
