Where can I find 3/8" thick melamine in Fl?
|

Title says it all. I'm using light weight stuff on the shelves and the shelves will be little so I'm looking for 3/8" thickness, might do 1/2" if that's the only thing I can get. Home Depot and Lowes were not helpful in the least. I'm in Florida and haven't found anything even close to here.. Any recommendations for online places?
I'd even consider PVC board if that could be found without the grooves in it.

Please ignore the above.. PVC board is looking very appealing. Would it be a good building material?

I love PVC but have never worked with it myself. I have no idea how to chemical weld. But I do know if you're going to screw the sheets together PRE-DRILL THE HOLES! Personally I prefer to order PVC cages and racks because the cage mfgs buy in bulk and can get the sheets at a better price than we can.

Thanks for the tip. This will be my first rack, but I drew up the plans and have everything calculated so it should go off without a hitch. I considered ordering them but I'd rather be able to customize everything myself and not have to deal with shipping. Plus I don't know how readily they take custom orders? I've never ordered anything like that before.

All of my cages have been custom sizes. But hey if you can do it then do it! It's just easier for me to order because me and tools of any kind don't get along.

I've been looking for the 3/8" or 1/2" melamine for a project in both PA and MD now for years. No such luck.
