Lemonhead

So on the 23rd of this month, Just a few days away I would have had my GTP Lemonhead for one year. This snake has special meaning to me because so far (knock on wood) its the first GTP that I have been able to keep alive and appears to be in good health.. Soooooooo with all of that beaing said how will I find out the sex of my little one, It shed yesterday and I see no signs of sperm plugs, and I do not trust myself to probe it so how can I find somebody that I can truest to deermine the sex of my snake? If I had to take an "educated" guess I would bet on Me having a female because I think I see what appears to see "girly plugs" but I have zero knowledge of GTP sexing... Can somebody point me in the right direction here?

I don't think you should rush into anything  I don't Probe my GTP's  till they are  much bigger  ,,  probing a small  Chondro  can cause  damage   better safe then sorry  ..  i would wait till it's at least 200 grams    but I always opt on the safe side  .. you should start seeing  signs in the sheds soon  ..

I am in no rush really it's more so just curiosity I always check whenever it sheds but I don't believe I have any solo evidence yet

I actually have the same issue. I have the tools, know the methods, but never actually did it so I lack the confidence. I know what I been told when I bought my snakes & seen what leads me to believe it's true but it's hard to take anyone's word especially when it's easy to make a mistake. I know a few folks from here & similair sites attend local reptile shows. When the time comes I have a few plans.  I'm hoping, I'll have a few more friends locally that are willing to share there experience by then but if not I'm sure there will be a reputable breeder at a local show that will land a hand.

I'm with Doom. If you have no solid reason to know sex, don't worry about it. Unless you have a perfect opportunity to get it sexed. If a reputable Chondro breeder is in the area, sure, but otherwise why risk it? Even the best probings aren't 100% accurate or safe. You'll only REALLY know its a girl if she produces eggs and you'll only REALLY know its a boy if it knocks up a girl. Rico sexed most of my adults and always said, "looks like a girl," or, "probably a boy", but never said, "I'm positive it's either." I'd like to know if anyone exists with more chondro sexing experience than Lord Rico :) best wishes!

+100 to chris and mike!

While some keeprs push things a bit you probably don't want to breed your males until at least 3 yrs old and your females until at least 4 (taking weight into account also).  So by the time your snake is 3 yrs old if you still haven't seen sperm plugs then you probably have a female.

Yeah, what everyone else said here. However, it's nice to know as soon as you can so you know what to name them. I know my girl Oscar isn't really happy about that.

Also, lemonhead is a boy.

Because he looks like a boy. You feed well and he's got a boy's body shape.

50% of the time, i'm right about this every time.
