Dry skin?

For substrate... like eco-earth? Was it dampened, misted daily?

Does it look like it could be a fungal infection? any irritation or swelling involved? or dry skin like George said?

Do you have it on dry or moist paper towels?

Also, when are you offering the food / time of day and what prey items besides mealworms?

I can't remember the brand, it wasn't the block you had to put in water and yes I misted daily (I was told to keep his conditions "cave-like" by the breeder and to mist daily).  But his bedding was never soaked or anything like that.

The paper towels are still being misted, so they should be somewhat damp and fungal infection was my thoughts, but when I told me vet about it she said it might still be bacteria and that's what would be easier to deal with.

Now and then I've offered crickets, but he's never seemed too interested so it's rare I offer them and I thought he might have eaten some once, but my brother found some hopping around his room so I think they may have gotten out.  I usually offer him food at night, though on a rare occassion I may not be there in the evening and so I would offer in the morning, but that's not the norm.

Was it the stuff that looks like small squares/ cubes?

No, I was asking about the coconut husk substrate - I had a BTS that got a nasty fungal infection while on a type of substrate - think it had the word "soft" in its title. Rather than looking like dirt, it was in the form of small cubes - it was supposed to hold moisture well and be "soft" and the issues didn't go away until I had him off that.

I'm looking for the name of what my vet recommended - the one I saw then was very into homeopathic stuff, and the stuff used was for both bacterial and fungal. If I can find it, perhaps you can run it by your vet as a treatment option if it comes up as being a fungal infection.

Oh I misread what you asked, sorry.  It was in a plastic bag, but wasn't in cubes, just fluffy bedding I had to put down.  I'll have to check the bag tonight, I only used half and had been spot cleaning it, so I still have the other half.

And thanks, I'll ask my vet about that for sure!

What temps are you running with him?

Not going to lie, I completely forgot to check, I remembered when I got there but then forgot to look.  I'll put a reminder on my phone to check tonight.

Temps are room temp so between 68-72 degrees, I checked and I was wrong it is ecoearth by zoo med.  It's the loose fibers.
