Q: Ball Python Morph Identification

I Bought my ball python "Wiz" last summer in which he was about 9-12 months old. It was sold to me as being a pastel. But this past weekend I found me a local feeder rat breeder and he saw Wiz. At that point he told me that Wiz look lik he have something else in him due to his bright colors still. He also showed me his regular pastel about the same size as Wiz, currently 1250g, and he seemed to be like a dark redish brown. Just wondering if any one could help me identify what I have please????? The brighter pictures of him are with white light and the dull picture are with regular 60w bulb.

He looks a lot like my male pastel, who was called a "lemon pastel" by the breeder I got him from. He has a ton of yellow too. I think these are just exceptionaly pretty and very light pastels. I've seen a lot of shade variation within that morph. Hope this helps!

Yea the guy I talked to told me it might be a yellowbelly pastel but I was thinking more superpastel.

You made this sound urgent - LOL Wink

I would say a regular Pastel. If you are curious if it's also a YB, you'll want to post a belly pic.

He's a pastel - there is huge variation within a single morph, some very high quality and some not so much. It's all on a grading scale ;)

He looks a lot like my adult male,I've noticed that some lines of pastel hold there color more then others. I would say that he is just a normal pastel from a line that doesn't brown out as much. Every snake and morph is different in their own way.

Lemon pastel is NERD's line of pastel. You can't call it a lemon pastel unles you have proof it is from NERD or direct from their stock. So it's a pastel regardless of how lemony it looks. looks nice and bright, like my mom's pastel :)

I've noticed pastels have a pretty large range in the brightness of their colors some are kind of dull/muddy others are really bright/clean, either way your's is a very pretty looking baby :)

Definitely a regular pastel, though a good-looking one at that!

Pastel for sure ans I second what Shannon said.  You can say he's a nice or bright pastel, but still nothing more than pastel.
