i got a heat panel for my green tree python its in a pvc cage. anyways i experiment many different places on where to put the probe for my helix thermostat and found that to get the most accurate temps you got to put the probe on the heat panel itself and i had it hanging out a couple of inches below the heat panel i got outrageus temps . where do you put your probe ?

Don't place it real close otherwise it will keep shutting off.... If you are setting the temps based upon the warm side of the cage, place it mid height under the heat panel;

If its a PVC cage from Jim, there's a little notch on top of the vent, the probe comes through there.

I put my probes on the top most branch under the heat panel for the arboreal cages and stick them to the wall about a 1/2" above the substrage for the terrestrial cages.
