Q: Pure l.m. Thayeri?

I recently purchased a kingsnake which was advertised as an aberrant l.m. thayeri.  It's my first foray into non-Californian kingsnakes and I've since read that pure thayeri are hard to come by.  So I was wondering what folks thoughts are.  Pure aberrant thayeri, or does she have something else in there?

Nope, she has distinct red and black scaling.  Easiest to see on the heart-blob at the nape of her neck.  They were selling a couple other thayeri that looked more typical so I've reached out to see if she's from the same clutch as the others but haven't heard back yet.

Pure thayeri aren't hard to come by at all.  Vivid, Sierra, Selective Propagations, Cherryville, Alaska, Mike Bodner, Salt Creek, myself and others produce many every year.  I have 5 clutches hatching/cooking right now.  There are a few lines that produce "aberrant" thayeri, often times it's just variation they're known for however.  That looks to be a pure, but without scales counts and known lineage who knows.  BTW, they have species status now and are known as Lampropeltis leonis.
