Q: flaking discolored ventral scales

here it is 06 jag i found some scale flakes in enclosure upon closer inspection i found some (10-15) scales that were discolored (brownish) only 2 are large scales the rest are smaller 
substrate is newspaper i have another jag same enclosure heat/humidity/feeding/ drinking etc
does not seem to be tender/painful. thanks for the help

What kind of heat source do you use for the snakes? Also, where were the discolored scales located? Is it possible that they are mild burns?

kind of souns like scale rot as well..I had to treat a ribbon snake for it...sounds just like what you described

pics would be very helpful....could be a burn or scale rot, if you throw a pic up, someone will be able to tell you what it is and how to treat.

yes pics... otherwise you will just get a bunch of guesses.... it could be several things.....

the heat source is heat cagle that is not in direct contact with the snake sounds like scale rot what are viable treatments/causes

i used neosporin w/o pain relief  for my ribbon snake twice a day..after  2 sheds it was gone
