A friend was given a Black Throat monitor and a Timor monitor recently and would like to know the about size for each.

timor monitors grow 20-28 inches. black throats can get about 5 feet.

I would say you could possibly see the black throat get even a little bigger, but 5 foot is still a handful to deal with....

They say 4 to 6 feet long but as Brett said average would be about 5 ft. Keep in mind most of this is tail. I personally don't know anyone with a Black Throated Monitor that has reached more than 4 to 5 ft but I've seen pics on line of some massive looking ones. They are a handful when they get full grown. I think I want one now. What do you guys think?

You guys are awesome!! I didn't think of that either. I do have closed up storage space under the stairs. Switch to glass doors and I'll have a HUGE cage!!  Time to look for a Komodo!!
