Q:
Bloody Bearded Dragon Eye
In Relation To:
Leo

I posted earlier about taking Leo to the vet for his signs of lethargy/not eating. He is doing a bit better, has eaten and seems more active, but that right eye still remained closed. Well i took him out of his cage today to soak him and the right eye was open and bloody. It wasn't outwardly bleeding, but the bottom half of the eye was internally bloody. I'm pretty sure this is due to the coil light now, i moved it to the far end of the cage and he seemed to be improving, now I'm just going to get a lower wattage bulb or go back to the tubing light. I'm not sure what I should do..if this will go away on its own or if I should bring him to the vet. My bank account isnt liking me right now due to being recently unemployed and i cant afford another $100+ vet visit, but will take him if he really needs it. I don't think he's blind in the eye, his pupil still dilates. What should I do for him or is there anything I can do?

Well, i wouldn't think it is much different than when a person pops a vessel in thier eye. Just wait a week or two, if it gets worse, then see a vet.

it could be something beign can't really say i would take him to you vet when you can. i do suggest that you change your uvb coil light bulb into something different as uvb coil lightbulbs have been proven to burn i believe the retnas or cornias of bd eyes.
