Do albino snakes need special lighting?  Will a basking spot light hurt an albino?  What would be the best lighting for one?

UV Lighting and natural sun light can cause "sun burns" and eye damage to some types of albinos. I once cared for "white alligators " and the were very sensitive to burning. Burns would become medical issues and sometimes even leave scars. Without melinin in their skin and eyes they are just not as protected. I would minimize natural sun exposure and UV in the basking light for most albinos.

Snakes in general don't really need special lighting at all (exception: insect eaters do benefit from some UV). The only lighting they really need is whatever ambient light they are getting from the room they are in. Provide some heat either by an UTH or a ceramic heat emitter over a rock for a basking area (either should be on a rheostat, of course). Robin is correct that albinos are much more sensitive to UV.
